Sets you back in 1998 when the game came out, playing one of the scientists (Morgan Freeman) that just recently got opportunity to work at Black Mesa top secret government facility. After an experiment gone terribly wrong, alien life-forms started to appear out of wealth of incoming portals, and you wish you never got this job in the first place. The first add-on mission disc to the HL original game, now puts you at the same timeline as the originator did, only now you're playing one of the soldiers (Sgt. Sheppard) that are only following their orders, and that is not to allow anyone, human or alien, to leave this acursed place where that dark experiment changed everything it was able to, and that which it couldn't was left destroyed. This add-on will also give you a battle with the final nemesis like the originator did.Half-Life: Counter-Strike
Online multiplayer game only, with no option of playing it as a campaign or any other way of solo missions, but is much upgraded considering the HL world towards the multiplayer online shootouts, more new weapons added, characters to choose, and such.Half-Life: Blue Shift
Second add-on to the originator which also puts you in the same timeline, only now you're playing one of the guards from Black Mesa facility. Your only duty there is to protect others first, and your life comes on second place. This one is using updated and enhanced game engine with better visual details than other HL games, though.
