For the last time, the Avatar is being summoned to free Britannia from Guardian's curse. The eight Shrines of Virtues, the pride of Britannia, have been all desecrated by this evil and mysterious creature. The glyphs which protected them have been taken, and put into huge columns the Guardian built in Britannia, with their entrances hidden deep in dangerous dungeons. And so, the people of Britannia lost their virtues. You, as Avatar, must now cleanse the shrine and let the virtues return to the people. Your task is especially difficult since you can't trust any more the people you encounter. But a shrewd and beautiful pirate girl Raven changes your life forever, and helps you on your dangerous quest. With her help, you'll liberate the Britannians, and learn about the true origin of the Guardian.

This last single-player Ultima game is an action/adventure with very slight elements of role-playing (weapon and armor customization), while the levelling-up doesn't depend on the amount of enemies you've killed and the combat is real time, without a party to help you. The game features support for EAX sound and a full 3D world with an almost unrestricted freedom of movement.
